Troubleshooting: Cannot Remove the Booking Field from the JSM Request

When managing JSM request forms, you may find that the Booking field cannot be removed. This guide explains why it happens and how to fix it.

Issue

The Remove button for the Booking field is grayed out, and you cannot remove it from the JSM request form.

Cause

If the Booking Flow was created in a version of Booking older than 8.0, the field was automatically marked as required. This prevents it from being removed from the JSM request form.

Solution

To resolve the issue, make the Booking field optional before removing it:

1. Go to Jira Administration > Work items > Field Configuration.

2. Find the Booking field.

3. Disable the Required toggle.

   

4. Return to your JSM request configuration and remove the Booking field.

Result

The Booking field is now optional and can be removed from the JSM request form.
